The story
One morning, Mouse woke up. Sniff sniff! What was that SMELL?
Mouse followed his nose OUT the door and into the garden.
"WOW!" said Mouse. A BIG chocolate chip cookie sat on a leaf!
The cookie is too high! How should Mouse reach it?
What happens next?
- Hop on the stones!
- Climb the vine!
Mouse hopped from stone to stone. Hop! Hop! HOP! He reached the top!
Mouse climbed the vine. Up up up! He reached the top!
"I got it!" said Mouse. The cookie was BIG and GOOEY and perfect.
The cookie is SO big! What should Mouse do?
What happens next?
- Eat it all by myself!
- Share with a friend!
Mouse ate and ate. Munch munch munch! But his tummy HURT.
"I wish I had someone to share with," Mouse said quietly.
"Sparrow! Come share this cookie with me!" called Mouse.
Sparrow flew down. Crunch went Mouse! Cheep went Sparrow! YUM!
Just then, a little brown sparrow landed beside him.
Now Mouse has a friend! What should they do together?
What happens next?
- Take a cozy nap together!
- Find more cookies!
Mouse and Sparrow curled up together under a warm leaf. Zzzzz.
"Come on!" Mouse grabbed Sparrow's wing. "Let's find MORE cookies!"
Cookies are ALWAYS better with a friend. And Mouse had the best friend of all.
